Two’s Company

The first question I ask during an in-home consultation for window coverings is “What problem are you solving by adding window treatments”? The answer often calls for two treatments. Here are a few options, but the possibilities are endless.

Combine Two Rollers

Combining two roller shades under a single top treatment is a practical solution to having a translucent daytime shade that gives privacy and light control and a nighttime solution that completely darkens the room so you can sleep. Rollers can have manual loop cord controls, or a cordless control if you can reach the top of the window. Another option is rechargeable battery motorization so you can “Ask Alexa” or “Hey Google” to operate your shades.

Powder Room Perfection

This jewel box of a powder room has dramatic purple grass cloth on the walls. To compliment the design, there is an embellished relaxed roman shade over a very translucent grass roman shade that hides a “not-so-pretty” frosted glass window. The combination of the textural grass roman under the decorative fabric roman shade completes the drama of the room.

Nighttime Blackout with Daytime Solar Shade sun protection

This client chose a beautiful fabric roman shade with blackout lining over a solar roller shade that provides daytime protection from the western sun. Note that the solar shade is installed inside the window frame and the roman shade outside the frame with three extra inches of fabric on both sides of the window to protect against light leaking on the sides.

Do you have more than one problem to solve with window coverings? Let us work with you to design a solution that will be both functional and beautiful.
